license

Not Sure what the law is in CT but Mass considers a trike a morotcycle thus you need a cycle license

I would imagine ANY state will require a motorcycle license as it is still registered as a motorcycle

It varies from state to state. Motorcycles are generally considered by definition to have two wheels. In Nevada, a motorcycle is a vehicle with a seat or saddle and is designed to travel on the highway with not more than three wheels on the ground. If it has three wheels and TWO are powered... then it becomes a "trimobile" or trike. Nevada DOES specifically waive our helmet law for trike and moped riders though.

As I understand it, Delaware, Georgia and Washington have actual trike licenses and West Virginia is considering adding one. In Washington, the trike license also applies to motorcycles with sidecars.

BTW, someone from Georgia in a post I read recently on another site investigated instra-trikes all the way to the top administration of the Georgia DVM. It seems that Insta-trikes and Voyager kits are illegal there as once installed, the vehicle is not longer a motorcycle (rendering the motorcycle plate invalid) but with four wheels isn't a trike either.

IT reall blows my mind that some states will not honor the Instra -trike or Voyager kits . I have one on mine due to handicapped conditions.
I would be glad for the states to change out to trike style at their expense.I installed the instra-trike on after 2 total knee replacements ,spinal surgery and heart attack.
I would think that this problem would fall under the Disabillity Act.
What about hand controls in vehicles, ramps have to be builted, for wheel chairs to enter/exit the buildings, etc
I have made the state of South Carolina change plans to allow me to built a dock due to handicapped conditions, they buck, kick blewed their nose ,run their mouths and finllay gave in when I threaten to sue them with a law suit through Disabillity Act with paper work in my hand.It took me 3 trips to DEH of South CArolina to change their minds.
This Disabillty Act is a federal law.
BRING IT ON for a Battle with us handicapped folks!

My wife got her "temps" last week. She passed the written test. They couldn't tell her anything about the driving test because none of the examiners for Butler County, Ohio has ever given it. Should be interesting as we have nothing but the trike now.

Did she or is she going to take the MSF class offered by Ohio?
If so then she can take her test at the end of the class

In California a Trike is considered a motorcycle for registration and helmet purposes. However, Trikes and Motorcycles with Sidecars only require a Class "C" auto drivers license.

It is about the ONLY thing California is less restrictive on then the rest of the Country.
