This is my adapter. There are others for less money. This one is rigid and holds up well.

Any good reason to stay out of someone else’s mess is a gift to both parties.

The problem with the ebay vs the J&M adapter is the ebay type doesn't allow for the use of the mic for the CB or intercom system where the J&M adapter does allow the mic to work.

Yes, I thought I read and understood your post. Maybe I just was being dense.

The point of my response was cautionary in that one needs to remember to hear sounds cleanly from in the helmet speakers you need to compensate for external noised (wind noise). Therefore you will need to have the volume at a level that will overcome that external noise.

Add all that noise up and you get close if not exceed a level that will damage hearing.

A web search will provide a long list of laws that are on the books that were there for the best of intentions, at the time.

My point is, my ears are important to me. Yes my hearing has gotten worse over the years. I don't believe there is a reasonable combination of helmet, in the helmet speakers that will allow me to do anything more than simply communicate basic sentences at speed on a motorcycle.

Meaning the mic on the J&M helmet headset, not a mic on the earbuds cord.

A solution Rube Goldberg could be proud of. Though it may be perfect for someone, so don't let the majority get in the way.

This is my signature block. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I got one of these for my wife so she could use earbuds and still use the mic.
