Question Wired or no wires?

I am buying a new Nolan 104 EVO and I am trying to decide if I should go with wired headset or wireless? Wife doesn't ride much anymore so she will stay wired if that has any bearing on your advice. All information is greatly appreciated.

Wired. I have enough stuff (cell phone, iPad, cameras) to remember to charge.

I am going wireless, because my wife cannot stand having to blindly fumble around with connecting the cord especially in the winter with gloves and coat.

HAVE SENA. BT ONLY WAY TO GO !! JUST TRANSFERRED MINE TO NEW SHOEI .SPEAKER PLACEMENT MUCH BETTER WITH NEW HELMET AND SOUND CLEARER . TALK TO DENNIS WILL SHOW YOU BATTERY BACKUP -JUST IN CASE FORGET TO CHARGE - CHARGE LASTS OVER 10 HRS FOR ME SO WHEN YA GO IN FOR LUNCH AT RTE PUT IT ON CHARGE . WAS ON IRON BUTT WHEN FIRST GOT AND CHARGED WHILE RIDING . I USUALLY NOW PLUG IN PHONE AND RUN THRU BIKE INSTEAD OF HELMET. USE HELMET IF EXPECTING OR NEED TO MAKE CALL.

WE ALL GOT TO GO SOMETIME .....ALWAYS TO SOON

I've never had a wired set, so can't really compare, but Sena BT have worked well for my wife and I for 5 years now. Battery life has been >13hr. Normally just plug them in when we get to the motel (tip - bring a short cord power-bar so you can charge headsets & phones all at once). If you do forget to charge it's easy enough to run a cord from a 12V outlet in the trunk to the headset and charge it while riding and using it. When alone, I use their SM10 in the glove box to listen to bike audio. Works well.

It doesn't really matter what I like its what do you like? What have you been using up until now? Wired by the sound of it. If so why are you considering a change and what are you hoping to gain?

My wife doesn't ride, and seldom would I use anything to talk to another rider. I use a set of helmet speakers installed by me with the small phono plug. I like the better fidelity of the wired system. Helmet speaker placement is the key to better sound. The speakers should be lined up correctly with your ears and as close a possible to increase the low range sound transfer. I use an adapter shown in the picture to use the audio only from the bike. Good luck!

Any good reason to stay out of someone else’s mess is a gift to both parties.
