FoBo Bike Bluetooth TPMS

I saw on their web site that they are now shipping. I did not see any indication as to when people who have pre-ordered would receive theirs.

FoBo

I contacted Fobo with my order number asking when I might receive mine. The order is still listed as "Processing" on the web site. We'll see what kind of customer service they offer.

Do they seem to be working as expected?

Looks solid, quality fit and finish on the sensors. In the garage it works fine. Paired up to my Galaxy S5 great.

Was slow regstering thier sensors/app to my Yahoo E-mail address, ended up using my G-Mail account. I did end up getting six or so emails from Fobo, to my Yahoo account several hours later.

My wing is all apart, so I haven't had a chance to test it out on the road. Sorry, I can't give you a better review.

Customer service

I certainly can't complain about their service. I sent them Email last night and I got tracking information on the sensors today. Unfortunately, the sensors are still in Malaysia.

FOBO Bluetooth TPMS

I have been a dealer for another TPMS for a few years now and was contacted by the them to carry them in inventory. I looked them over and it looks like a good product. I have a number of them being shipped to me now. I intended to offer them here on the board. A lot of riders call me for exchange wheels and suspension upgrades and I intend to offer this system as an alternative to the stock system and some of the aftermarket units out there now.
A lot of guys have an Android or iPhone now and this is a good fit for monitoring your tires.
Will have some in stock next week.

FoBo Bike

I have my FoBo sensors on the bike and have some reactions to them.
  1. The lock nut system does not seem useful to me. It just makes adjusting air pressure harder. Besides, why would anyone steal a $50 sensor when they probably don't even know what they do?
  2. The pressure registered by the FoBo sensors disagrees with my other air pressure gages by a small amount. They seem to both sense the pressure about 1 psi lower than my other gages.
  3. The temperature sensors do seem to be useful at least to give a close reading as to the temperature. I'm going to compare them with the readings from an infrared thermometer soon.
  4. The notification system for incorrect pressure seems somewhat inadequate. It produces a single audible tone and then the display flashes the pressure that is incorrect if the FoBo app is in the foreground. With a phone in the sunlight, the flashing display is not especially easy to see.
Even with these issues, it seems to be a very useful entry level TPMS. It will allow me to check my tire pressure every time I ride and it will provide a warning beep if my tire pressures go out of the desired range. I would think it would be worth the $100 as an easy way to check your tire pressure when you ride even if you did not have a way to hear the alert when your tire pressure goes out of range.
