John, how does this new model compare to the previous J&M Goldwing/F6B replacement speakers in terms of sound output?

Many of us have the older J&M and want to know if this most recent upgrade is cost effective.

2013 F6B, black, with ABS
If it ain't broke, try to fix it anyways

BigBird,,,,,,

excellent question ,,,,,,

as it shows in the video, you will get approximately 2db of sound increase over stock with the latest J&M Performance XT fairing speaker upgrade for the 06-16 GL1800 & F6B ,,,,,,

and that equates to about a 1 - 1.5 DB increase over our previous version of these speakers built back in about 2007 ,,,,,,

depends upon your budget of course, but for $159.99 per pair full list price, you get more sound at each volume level setting, and better long term durability with the new design ,,,, along with super easy plug-n-play no-mods installation ,,,,,

for those GLs where the stock speakers are on their last legs, then the J&M Performance XT speaker upgrade is a no-brainer, but if your J&M speakers are still ROKKIN away without issues, then it will depend upon how much a hundred or so and change means to you ,,,,,

we DO appreciate your loyalty to the J&M product line ,,,,,

I guess my question is this. Are the speakers clearer or just louder. Is less than 3dB increase really that much?

I am more curious about how they compare to Sony Xplod or Alpine or Polk Audio's db6501.

One of my J&M speakers had an issue a couple of weeks ago and I have been on the fence on replace or go with a different brand.
