Newbe from Edmonton Canada

Hello all, just a quick hello from the north country, I just bough a used navy blue 2009 Goldwing air bag model this past summer with 40,000 KM on it. I use to ride a 1000 Suzuki Vstrom. It's been a pretty easy transition but it took a bit of time to get use to the ABS brakes, man these things stop fast for such a big machine! My wife is definitely enjoying being on the back compared to the Strom. I still have a 2006 650 WeeStrom set up for dirt roads for the back roads stuff around central Alberta. I have put on 6,000KM so far on my Wing and am looking forward to 600,000 more.
Thanks

Now that you've let your wife on the back of it, you'll be a Goldwing owner for life!

My better half gets so comfy that she's come very close to falling asleep from time to time.

Yes she has almost fallen asleep already and that was only on a 5 hr ride. LOL Looking at doing a trip from Edmonton to Vancouver Island and many point in between next summer, can't wait to rack up the kilometers!

As an added bonus Canadian park passes are free for 2017. You can go through Saskatchewan river crossing, takakkaw falls, meadows in the sky parkway and more for free! Your better half won't fall asleep there!
Enjoy racking up the Kilometres!

Congrats on the new-to-you Wing, from just a hair northeast of you (Fort Sask). Yes, I can well imagine that your wife likes the rear accommodations on the Wing than on the V-Strom . Enjoy the summer riding and maybe we'll cross paths one day.

I had forgotten about the free entry into the National Parks for 2017. That'll be handy.

Congrats on the wing. Im out of Devon. If you plan on going to the island try going there via Prince Rupert BC. Its a 16 hour ferry ride down to to Port Hardy on the extreme north end of the island. I did it on the ST a couple years ago. Great ride. If you need any work done on your wing contact Gerry @ GAC Enterprises. He,s the best around the Edmonton area.

I believe most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the seat to the handlebars.

Ride long and prosper!

Have completed numerous SaddleSore 1000s, a Bun Burner and a Bun Burner Gold.
