Congrats on your new/old Wing. I recently bought an '04 and I'm loving the ride! Here is hoping that your FI light is just a loose connection or faulty light. Enjoy the rest of your ride home!

So, I've been shopping for a while and ran across a deal I couldn't pass up on an '03 Wing. Some think I'm crazy for the "high mileage" but I know 76,000 is nothing to these beasts. Hard to beat $2k under book too!

So, the adventure begins this Thursday when I fly from NC to Houston to sign and drive it back home 1200 miles.

Sold my 02 with 350,000 miles to a guy from our GWRRA chapter. He rides it to work every day during the riding season and he loves it. I wonder what his friends thought when he bought it. 76,000 is still a new bike.

Well the dealership said I need to replace the ECU? Only $895 for the part. What I can't figure is that on three occasions, the flashing FI light tells me it's just the left knock sensor (26). So, it's running fine. I put some higher octane in it just to see. Got about 650 miles to get home. We'll see.

I'll put money on you making it home.

Playing from my phone. Maybe somebody can help search for and post a link to one of the threads were techdude2000 diagnosed similar issue and proved it either was or was not the ECM.

I seem to recall an early step was swapping the left and right knock sensors. If code "follows" the sensor, sensor is bad. If code stays the same ... I don't remember next step.

I read something about that. So swapping the two makes sense for step one. I'll look up techdude2000's posts too. Thanks! Btw, over 400 miles with no further issues (but that annoying hole where the gas keeps running out forcing me to stop and fill the tank up again!)

Well I made it home with not even a blip in the engine performance. I did notice that second gear wants to pop down into neutral on deceleration, but otherwise, she ran like a charm.
