New to me '03

I had an '05 a few years back and traded it for an '07 BMW GSA...the most all out fun I've ever had in a bike. But after selling that bike due to a third unexpected kid, I got back into riding last May with an '01 BMW R1150GS...not quite as much fun or comfortable as the GSA.

So, I've been shopping for a while and ran across a deal I couldn't pass up on an '03 Wing. Some think I'm crazy for the "high mileage" but I know 76,000 is nothing to these beasts. Hard to beat $2k under book too!

So, the adventure begins this Thursday when I fly from NC to Houston to sign and drive it back home 1200 miles.

Make sure the frame recall and all other recalls have been taken care of. Enjoy the ride!

Thanks everyone...and Captron...I've been watching cycle trader every day for a couple months so when it popped up, I couldn't resist. You just don't see GL1800s for 6 grand, especially under 100,000 miles. Knowing that, I had to call and it was a Harley dealer that didn't want the recent trade in their stock...too much chance the potential Harley buyer wouldn't want one anymore I guess!

Well I'm pretty sure I've gotten a great deal. I got about 350 miles down, of the 1150 miles total. I had to stop for the FI light. I found a Honda dealer (in Covington, LA) so gonna have it checked out first thing in the morning (Friday) even though the blinks say it's most likely just the left knock sensor (26 blinks...2 long + 6 short). I've also got something "not right" with the front brake lever. It works but just doesn't feel right. Other than that, the only problem is my sore butt! Hope to try and finish the 12 remaining hours today if they can get me back on the road asap.
