hankook

Hello everyone
complete newbie here so forgive me if this guestion has been asked before. I am running a honkook optimo h426 on my vstar 1300 and love it, it is a non run flat tire with a 89h rating and size 195/60/16. hankook makes a run flat optimo h426 with a rating of 87v in a 195/55/16, so questions are has anyone tried these on a goldwing , will a 195/60 fit and would you go with the run flat or non run flat. i am looking for longevity and would really love to go dark on the goldwing.

195/60 will fit but is slightly taller than stock tire. It will work ok on the wing but most run a 195/55. I would definitely go with the run flat. Personal favorite is the yokohama avid envigor run flat.
Road Runner and Wingwinder like this.

Here is a thread where I ask if anyone is running the runflat version of that Hankook.

Hankook Optimo H426B HRS

I have one that is setting in the garage on a spare rim ready to go. It will be mounted on the bike before my next ride.

My plan is to use it for as long as it will last this Spring. Then report back in the thread above with my impressions.

That's a good looking tread Monk. Lots of siping and some good rain grooves.

I'm hoping to get some decent wear out of it. A good test will be going through some of the curves here in the Ozarks!

I haven't sold that tire in my shop yet. I do sell quite a few Hankook tires and they are great performers on autos and both 1/2 ton and 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. The H727 rivals a Michelin for mileage. The Dynapro ATM is one of the best All Terrain tires out there for Light Trucks. I've sold Hundreds of Hankooks in the last few years. FOMOCO has been using them as OE quite a bit in the last 5 years. I'm a believer. I'll be watching for your report on this tire.

I put around 300 miles on it yesterday. I did the following route ...

https://goo.gl/maps/P6goEQzm3JS2

The tire handles very well, but since it is only a 21 pound tire, that is pretty much what I expected. I took off a Michelin Alpin and replaced it with this one. There is no comparison between the two, when it comes to running through twisty roads. It is very easy to transition, which is what I'm looking for.

Now the big question is how long will it last. Given a little time this Spring I intend to find out.

Monk, are you really running the P1 at 44psi? How did you end up there?

Yes, I've worn out three and kept increasing the PSI with each one. Really liked the handling, but the edge of the tread would get down into the cord real quick. The best mileage I got was 5,097 and the worst was 3,613.

The increased PSI got me a few more miles, but not anything significant. That tire is so much fun.

The Handkook is similiar to the P1, but the tread is slightly wider.

I believe I already know where I'm going to end up with this tire experimentation. If you want to play, then you have to pay.
