Nope, Taddpole is correct. It's a very common error.

BC Don, I don't actually care, I was just winding you up a little for being a touch snooty but making a wee mistake yourself. Well done for taking it as lightly as it was intended.

My mother was an English teacher. I was in my 40s with three kids in school. She tried to pull me into an "is versus are" conversation she was having with one of my boys. I said, "I ain't interested." I learned that day, you are never too old for a good whipping from your mom!

Mistakes, they are a lot. (Not that I'm interested!)

I most certainly understand the OPs original post when he mentions it's sometimes rather hard to "decipher" what's being asked or stated due to such poor spelling, grammar or, very little use of, or NO punctuation.

And as usual, when the subject of using correct spelling or grammar in a post comes up, there will be a few that simply rag on any one who's made comments about the use of incorrect spelling, grammar or punctuation. Well, RAG AWAY, for all I care. When a person takes the time to make sure that the point he's (or she's) asking about or stating about, is done the correct way so that folks can comprehend what's being asked or stated, it just makes reading that much easier to understand.

Nobody's trying to make English teachers out of all of us here. It's just nice to read through a question or post without trying to interpret what's being asked or stated due to either really bad spelling or, no punctuation etc. OK, time for the flaming, FLAME ON!

passed I couldn't pass on this opportunity to flame as requested. In my past, I passed a few classes.
