Do You Watch Cable TV??

I'm signed up in a package deal for internet, phone, and cable TV at our new house.
We got local stations before with a outside antenna which was fine.

The cable TV programs are the biggest customer rip-off for wasting $$$.
It hurts to pay monthly for something we never use.

What about you?

We have satellite and it's same way. Have to pay for what we don't want or interest in watching.

When you have one, ride it. If you have one and don't ride it, whats the point.

Michael, Please explain why your paying for something you seem not to need or want?

If you only need internet, you can get that by itself, Get an intro deal and call them each year to extend it or you will go elsewhere, I do this every year myself

If you need a phone at home rather than a cell, use Magic Jack plus for about $1.50 a month, it works the same way a Charter or other cable providers phone works, on the same inet.

There are so many options , to save coin.

I have the "bundle" too, and wanted to eliminate the home phone. So I called them up and explained that I never needed the land-line since my father in-law was moved to the nursing home and the Life-Line was the only reason we had it. They wouldn't come down enough to remove the land-line, so I made it the bare bones version....no call waiting, no call forwarding etc. and then I complained about the extortionist rate they were charging me (I'm embarrassed to admit how much that was). They offered to knock off $25 per month for a year, but I'd have to call back before the end of their "promotional" deal to renew it or the price jumps back up. What the heck. You can't win 'em all, but that's still $300/year. They say warning them you are going to "jump ship" for a competitor won't phase them in the least and they'll just say "we're going to miss you!". Yeah right.
Call them and wear them down if you can.

I'm single....the last price increase was my last straw. No more cable tv, or tv in general...no more FB because I'm sick of the whiny you know what's...I'm surviving just fine.

........
See here's my problem with cable..... 80% of the time.

I love football on any level, grade school, high school, college, and the NFL
So maybe I should cancel cable until football season............

Another thing I could do is make sure I'm paying for basic cable.

Here's some BS I had with my cable Co. on my bundle package.
Every month my bill would increase in price by $7.00-$15.00.

I called every time the price went up and the reason they give me was discount's.
They said some discounts are given monthly, some every 3 months, some every 6 months,
and if you don't call, they expirer...........what a crock.

I have never had cable TV...never. An indoor antenna gives us about 10 channels and we have Netflix. That's more than enough TV. Our monthly cost for TV is about $8.
