I'm afraid so

My grandson who is a senior in high school made the all region band. He is playing in that band on Saturday at 3:00.

Sorry, wish i could go, but can't miss the concert.

I would really like to check out the lower part of Highway 123 to see if that chip and seal is beat off the road yet.

Hopefully, next time!!

BREAKING NEWS....we have a 7 day drying out period here in CA and I think I'll try and wear out my tires for at least 3 days. Sat the temp in Pismo Beach is supposed to be 70 deg. Sounds like time for some fish & chips and sunshine. Life is good.

Managed 800 miles between Friday night and Saturday with a friend.

It was both of our first time using heated gear. It's a total game changer. Temps in the 30s and 40s at night and morning and low 50s in the day and it was as comfortable as a 60 degree spring day.

I found a new set of roads in Southern Arkansas that are a bit closer to me and still pretty nice. Not quite as good as the northern part but still way better than around my area in Texas.

I agree, the heated gear is well worth it. The best part is staying warm while not having to bulk up with all that gear.

Tell me about the new roads you found. Were they in the Mena area?

Here was our basic route except we went due North out of Texarkana on 71 and then took 27 all the way up.

Highway 27 and 28 both are not bad. Like you said, not like in the mountains. They are good routes for me when I'm on the way to Mena or winter time riding when it is too cold and messy to ride in the Ozarks.

Yep... I normally am just taking Interstate to get to your neck of the woods and haven't spent much time in the lower part of the state. I had went from Mena to Hot Springs on 88 / 270 once before and it was pretty horrible so I had assumed all the roads in the southern part of the state were that bad. I was happy to find some that were decent.

Overall...I'd give them about a 6 with maybe a couple 7s on a scale of 1-10 whereas the northern part has some roads in the 8-9 range.

Even so...it's quite a bit easier for me to get to the southern part and back home in a day so it was a nice find for me.
