May fly and ride to CO?

Hello - I will be flying to Denver for work the second week of May. Never been to Colorado so I was thinking of renting a bike out there and touring for two or three days.

Is this a bad idea due to leftover snow in the mountains? Does anyone have any recommendations on rental outfits? I have a 2006 GL but would ride just about anything comfortable for a couple days.

Would be interested to hear any recommendations for routes as well, especially if elevation is a concern.

Pack your heated gear, might send canyon dancer a pm about a week before you go. He lives in Loveland co. Eagle Rider is in Denver, also the HD dealerships have rental programs.

Thanks for the info. Don't own any heated gear but will bring warm stuff!

Mile High HD has a great rental program. I've rented from them and eagle rider and MHHD has nicer bikes and customer service.
May can be chilly and it can be warm. I had a friend from CT come out July 4th and we got snowed on going up Mt. Evans.
The Peak to Peak highway should be clear. Also the ride out to South Park or down to Bishop's Castle would be nice in the Spring.
Give me a ring before you come and if I'm available I'd be happy to show you around. Three 0 three 5 four 9 two 8 8 nine

This is from late may last year. Trail ridge road.
