On the street when most people talked about buying a V-twin and not a Harley, Indian was brought up most of the time. I think Polaris made the right decision rather than continue to compete with themselves in a shrinking market. The name alone, "Indian", is a far more recognized name than Victory as a Harley competitor. IMO the Indian name has a better chance of offering more accepted high performance models than Harley. I just wonder if Polaris will offer the Indian brand to the former Victory dealers. I think it would be a mistake if they don't.

I would imagine Victory as left a bad taste in many dealers mouths. Why would they be interested in spending more money for and Indian dealership they have to have a certain look with all of the Indian displays. I maybe wrong but HD other than maybe a few Honda dealers is the only stand alone bike only dealer. Honda has there own line of atvs but nearly everyone else you see are multi brand dealers in order to keep the doors open.

Welllllllllll, I'm glad I didnt look further into buying one earlier this year!!!!

I'll definitely be watching the used market. I bet people will want to dump the visions now that there's no backing for it, however mechanics that will work on them will be few and far between.

Oh I am so sad, I always wanted to get a Victory, NOT!

I sat on one once at the shop and it seemed it had about .5 degree lean at standing still or you would drop it. I can't remember ever sitting on a more top-heavy bike.

Sad as it is, It seems to make good business sense. Concentrate in the Indian name, Its a better known brand. The slingshot, despite its problems is a new market that deserves to be looked at some more.

I just can't see paying that kind of money for the "Indian" name. Hoping they come out with some affordable models.

Then you have never ridden an original concours ZG1000 lol

7.1 gallons at the TOP of that motorcycle, yeah parking lots are lots of fun until you really get familiar with it.

I read on one of the bike sites that dealers were selling on average about 20 Victory's per year. And there aren't that many dealers. Tough to stay in business with those numbers.

They made a big mistake trying to go head to head with Harley without offering anything to differentiate themselves from Harley. They tried to copy the same formula, big bore, air cooled V Twin cruisers. Just having nice looking bikes is not enough.
