In my career, I deal only with facts, not almost facts, or alternate facts. Something is either correct, or not correct. Call it a character flaw. 10w-40 is the recommended oil.

No, don't take that post wrong. I didn't say you should only use 10w-40. I was only stating what the recommended oil is in the earlier Wings. Personally, I use 10w-30, mostly because that is what is most commonly available, and it fits my typical riding environment within the suggested range for alternate grades in the owners manual.

I am not part of the strict adherence crowd. I just feel that if you are going to veer from what is recommended, it is just smart to at least start out knowing what that recommendation is. Isn't that just common sense?

I 'll join in, what da heeek!

What about that new fancy oil that is supposed to be made from gas instead of crude...BMW bikes are now using it (as recommended by their fairytail bookie). ?????

According to a couple of 'reliable' 'hear-say' sources, its supposed to be the next step on oil, meaning: better than synthetic oil.

...should I get my flame suit now

@Sparky57 : Ha! you brought out the bad word "fact". Don't you realize that is a thing of the past? Fact was that thing science used to depend on. Information now is pliable. A 50/50 split country of opinion polls will let you know what is really happening in fantasy land TV and the social networks...oil ain't no different. Here you have it.

That is why I watch the Kardashians for my 'real' news of life.

I guess we're both wrong then. 10/30 & 20/50 aren't "recommended" but are acceptable. Kind of like Honda telling you to drain the oil on the side stand in one manual then in another tells you to drain on centerstand. Options are great!

What got me was you stated 20/50 was for "extreme" conditions! Where did that come from? Your facts cabinet? I guess if you live in the North Pole anything above freezing could be considered extreme.

Don't want to argue with you. I just hope you go back to work soon so you can pay taxes. I've been on welfare for over 30 years. If taxpayers like yourself start slacking I can't continue buying a new bike every year. lol...

Hope you had a great long ride today. I know my 250 mile lunch ride was great.

Sounds like you're cutting back on you're riding Red.

I find I have a lot of free time, or did I just forget what I had to do.
