New toys installed!

Ever since I bought my Wing last fall, I've been trying to sell my old Yamaha so I could finance the purchase of a few toys. Well, I finally sold the old bike a couple weeks ago, and immediately spent every penny (plus some) on most of the things I wanted.

My 8 y/o helmet was in need of replacement, so I got a new Shoei GT-Air. Lidpicker said it was one that fit me perfectly. The foam is rather tight, but there are no tight "spots" in the entire helmet. I imagine that once the innards form to my head, it will be nice and comfy. Only problem is the internal sun shield... It fogged up instantly! The pinlock insert keeps the clear shield from fogging, but that doesn't help the sun shield! I may need to store my helmet inside the house instead of the garage where it gets colder...

I added the J&M BluHub (CFBR-GL1800) device, so I could connect my cell phone to my bike without a cable, and so I could receive phone calls. Funny enough, this morning, on it's maiden voyage, my boss called me on my way to work with a frantic question. I was able to answer the call and fix his problem from inside my helmet. I play music and use Waze from the phone and volume is controlled via the new handlebar-mounted box that comes with the device. I do keep a power cable zip-tied to the X-grip on the bars (fed to a USB power plug in the cig. lighter plug in the left pocket), so using the Bluetooth won't drain my battery too quickly.

And finally, I also got the OEM CB radio and antenna. This was the first time I had removed the seat, and with all the dust I found, I don't think the PO had removed it either! I still need to get an SWR meter and the necessary adapters (found it all on ebay for $40, but I haven't pulled the trigger to purchase it just yet). Everything went together smoothly, and I now have my mobile command center functioning properly!

The only thing I still need is a set of Mick-O-Pegs. I'll be saving my pennies this summer for those.

SWR meter

Sierra has the SWR meter and adapters and dealing with them has always been a pleasant experience for me.

Yeah, I would, but they're more expensive. Because they charge $14.50 for shipping, its $9 more through Sierra for a tool that I'll only ever use once.

Bug, JackM on this board has an SWR meter that you could use and he lives up there close to you. PM me and I'll send his number.
