Goldwing 1800, 01' to 06', which year is best?

Considering all of the changes to the 1800, which model year is the very best and why?

Are the 01's frames stronger or the 05's seats more comfortable?

Does the 06' sterio really blow you away, is newer really better?

Is the color selection on the 04's the best ever?

What do you like about your wing and why is it better than other year productions.

Curious minds would really like to hear your opinion.

In the 60's the only "woodstock", I saw, was on an M-14 rifle. USMC 64'-68'

2001 Pearl Yellow 1800A
"Mello Yello"

1988 Heritage
"Sippin Whiskey"

1981 Super Glide stroker
"bugs in your teeth"

Still riding and wrenching on all three, especially the Shovel head !!!

this is my first wing, and yes the stereo will blow you away, and the navi is a definite plus for me, as is the comfort package also. as for your other questions , someone else with more knowledge of the wings will have to chime in on those.hope this helps.

I waited until I saw major improvements. The 2006 was it.

The 2006 models have bigger radiators and bigger fans to help alleviate the overheating problem. I believe the stock stereo is very much improved - it sounds good to me.

I believe 2005 was the first year with no recalls so I decided it was finally safe to get a 2006. My policy is never buy the first couple of years after a significant model change as was done in 2001. (Same with new releases of software like Windows, for example - I let others be the guina pigs. )

Color selection: I don't see how anyone can answer that. If you like a color, you like a color. The 2006 color selection is blasted by many people - but it included the one color I wanted so for me the selection was the best.

I like my 2006 Wing better than other years because of the color (gold), the NAV, I like the looks of the dash and instrumentation much better and stock heated grips/seat that work way better than I expected.

2006 ABS Gold (Built in U.S.A.), Full Mega Mondo Monte, Lots of extras! (3/25/2006) - PROGRESSIVIZED - Full Monte (Wing Ding 29) -WingSoft Large Complete Seat Modification, Full Mega Mondo Mega Plus Mega Monte.

I always buy first year models. I bought a 75 Wing GL-1000, then a 80 Wing, GL-1100, Then a 85 Wing GL-1200 FI, Then a 88 Wing GL-1500 and now this 01 Wing, GL-1800 and can't wait until the next model change

It seems after the first model, they tame em down a bit, The late models can't keep up with the first year model, Late model must be to heavy with all the do dads added to them
