Only one side of headset working

I have an 07 wing and now only one speaker in my headset will play. It is not the headset as we have tried several others. At first I was convinced it was in the cord that comes out of the left storage box that you plug your helmet cord into. This cord is say about 1 foot long and where it plugs into the larger wire loom I could twist the wires and sometimes get it to play both speakers. Convinced it was a short in this cord, we removed the cord from my buddie's 08 wing and plugged it in. Still it would not work. Also I detected that the passenger headset plugin will only play one speaker.
Any suggestions? Also I have the 4 year extended warranty. Is this item covered? Any help would be appreciated.

I had one fail within the first year I had the bike; now, it seems to be failing again.

Maybe Lewis (EC) or Ed(Sets) can come up with a better quality "pigtail" cable to replace the OEM.

Regarding whether both speakers work. The answer is yes and also the fader will let both rear and front adjust like it should.

How do you know it is not the headset ?

I have problems with the "elbow" in the connection of the upper cord to the headset. It doesn' make solid contact sometimes unless I press it in tighter. But only one side of the headset cuts out. Always the left speaker.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but based on the troubleshooting you have done, you more than likely have a bad radio.

The only other thing that can cause this exact symptom would be if one of the headset cables were pinched somewhere. Also, if you have a passenger audio controller, disconnect it and see if the problem goes away.

I had a similar problem a couple of months back. One of my headset speakers would come and go. About the same time my wife's headset quit completely. I ended up spraying all of the cord ends with electrical contact cleaner and they work like new again. These were Edset G2's that are 3 years old.

I have the problem as RH channel in headsets intercom and radio or aux.

J&M single wire type..both front and rear..have
sound in all 4-bike speakers.

I have cleaned all contacts with electrical
contact cleaner...both front and rear failed
at the same time.
Any real help would be appreciated.
