Check for transmitter lock/unlock feature????

My '05 bike did not come with lock/unlock transmitters but don't know if the original owner had them and lost them or not. The bike came from Florida and I did not have direct contact with him.

Just wondering if there is a quick way to find out if the bike is equipped to use them.

Yep, the bike came equipped with a remote. A dealer should be able to get you new ones but I'm guessing they are pricey. Also I believe they used to be avail. on ebay but I am not sure of the programming procedure.

If the search feature is working, I remember some old threads on the subject.

Also, you could be like me. Mine rides in a pocket on the bike and never gets used.

Interesting. Wonder if I could buy one of the car remotes that others are using as replacements and make that work.

Yes sir, you can. I don't remember the procedure, but it is on this board, somewhere. "Search" is your friend.

How to program the remote key fob
1. turn the key on-within 1 to 5 seconds point the remote at the trunk and push the trunk open key, then within 1 to 5 seconds turn off the ignition key.
2. repeat #1
3. repeat #1
4. repeat #1 except this time do not turn off the ignition switch. Hit the button again and it will program itself.

Turn the key off and test it.

Great info! Thanks.

So if it is a Honda fob, it should work on the Wing?? Is that correct?

No. The Honda remote you need has to have the correct FCC code number for the Wings. My mind remembers edj....something.

As long as the fob you get has this on it, it will work on your 05
FCC code #E4EG8DJ
