gas smell

After having my air cleaner replaced, I get a gas smell after riding. At first I thought I was just filling up too full, but last time out I already had gas and I could smell gas after parking. I have a 2004 GL1800.

After riding and parking for a few minutes, unscrew the gas cap and see if the tank "hisses" at you indicating it was pressurized. If so, the vapor recovery line from the tank down to the charcoal canister was probably mis-routed, pinched when putting the shelter back on after replacing the air filter. At least that would be my first guess.

it's easy to get that hose in the wrong place and pinch it. It passes down by the air filter housing on the right side.

I agree with recommendations stated above. Also when filling gas tank do not fill to the top of the tank neck! Ask me how I know
