Banks Lowman Road/Idaho 21

Is this a paved road? Is it a good road to get to Stanley from Idaho 55? Bannon Summit open now?

Have not stayed at motel in that area. We camp along the salmon river
between Riggins and Whitebird. Their are motels in both Riggins and
Grangeville.A lot of people really like the Mccall area.

Hotels

In McCall there is a nice Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, and I think there is now a Super 8. Plus several smaller units.

McCall is beautiful. A nice place to spend an evening in July sittting out on a deck having a cool beverage.

It gets my vote for lodging.

The road from Hiway 55 headed east is paved and a very pretty road along the Payette River. The snow has been off the road for quite a while..

It is the only road paved from Hiway 55 and the first week of July it willl be very scenic. Turn left at Lowman and Banner Summit is open before you reach Stanley.

You can check Idaho roads on the Idaho Transportation Website www.511.idaho.gov Here’s to safe traveling!

Give me an e-mail when you are doing this, If OK I would join you from Banks over to Stanley.

Yes, it is paved and well maintained the whole length;
Numerous Sightseeing Pullouts, Campgrounds, Hot springs, Picnic Spots, and Wilderness Camping galore;
The Payette River parallels the roadway almost continually from Banks to the Grandjean Turnoff;
This is the most scenic run in Idaho;
I figure God must be a biker in His spare time - that's why he put Idaho & the Northwest where He did;

Thats the main reason I bought my Wing, to ride in Idaho when I can live there. Got some property in Priest River that one day is going to be home.
