My wife and I are doing the SCMA National Parks Tour in 2017. We wanted to go to Death Valley, so this works out perfect for us. Weather permitting, we will probably stop by Manzanar on the way home or on a Sunday ride to Bishop. Made our reservation at Motel 6 yesterday. We plan on riding up from the Los Angeles area on Friday.

Remembering the road closures we experienced last year due to the Oct. 2015 flooding in the park, I took a look at the DVNP website. Sadly, Artists Drive will be closed until mid-March. This short, twisty ride was always one of my favorites. Scottys Castle remains closed until 2018, however the road to and from appears to be open. Badwater Road out to Shoshone is open again. No other closures noted on the website. C'mon February!

Every road in Arizona is scenic as long as you stay out of Phoenix and Tucson.

Wait... What?

There's not a Ritz in Nye County Nevada?!

The conference room amenities will not be to my standard!?

I can't recommend, but these guys below say they have a Goldwing for rent. All the rest seem to rent Harleys, which would also be OK I suppose if there were no wings available. Lots of Harleys at Eaglerider, etc.
