Or ... you could ride south just a bit and catch this one Sunday. Better get going as that is a couple days in the saddle for you!

Well, looks like Turkey Creek Overlook! It has a pretty good size parking lot with a few pick-nick tables in a grassy area with pit toilet, & most important an unobstructed Westerly view of the valley floor! (I bet you can see for 50 miles on a clear day!)
Turkey Creek Overlook's on the Tellico Plains, Tn. side at mm16, about 1 mile past the Indian Boundary Campground turnoff headed East toward Robbinsville, NC.
That's the good news, now the bad news. The entire Indian Boundary CG, as well as Cheoah Point CG on the Robbinsville side is booked. I may have to scout some viewing locations other than Cherohala

Peace, Whiskey.

Headz up, jus' heard on the local radio today Gatlinburg, Tn. & Cherokee, Nc. are gonna do a joint venture at Clingmans Dome. Runnin' shuttle buses from both sides of mountain, gotta have a ticket, $30 per.
Not our kinda thing, but thought some might enjoy it

Peace, Whiskey.

I will be at my Cabin in Bryson City at that time and would be up to meet anyone or Camp somewhere or just watch it from my porch.
It would be great to get together.

Lookin' like we're here...
http://crawfordscg.com/index.html
& don't know if we'll ride up to Cherohala or jus' stay in camp.
(Campground's directly in the path!)
Hope to get down there one weekend soon & scout it, we've never been there.
I do still have a room at Miss Reba's Phillips Motel in Robbinsville, Nc. too though.
Not 100% sure what our plan is yet.
I'd still like to see the moon's shadow come racin' across the valley floor toward me
