When I go to the sites they actually give you about 50 different roads.
Then tell you in a notation that some of these are incorrect.
I would appreciate the actual road numbers/route some of you took.

I took new roads every time I went around . Sorry but I will not be able to help . I ride like that also . If it looks interesting, my bike seems to go there .
Not always the wisest idea , but always exciting . I am not a planner for routes . Never have been . I also enjoy getting lost and running out of fuel . I call it an adventure . Some call it insanity .

I do the "get lost" thing myself.
It is just that my brother will be with me and he likes structure with planned gas stops etc.

Doug

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

We are limited on time so this time it is Lake Michigan.
I just thought maybe someone could give me route numbers and gas/lodging along the way.
I sure did not expect it to be so difficult since so many people say they have done the ride.

Half the fun of riding if no special plan is just that, riding. Been on several rides with no idea where I was going and made it home. Don't know about other gps units but the Zumo will show what's nearest to you for gps , good or lodging. Web site, motorcycleroads.com , has stated by state rides that others have done and are downloadable.

When you have one, ride it. If you have one and don't ride it, whats the point.

I could not agree more .
But not all riders are cut from same cloth . I know several that enjoy planning as much or more than the ride . They spend hours researching , plotting , mapping and whatever makes them tick
They really really enjoy that part of it . I suppose the same can be said as I love wrenching as much as I do riding . Tweaking a bike to make it mine makes me giddy . Than having it preform exactly the way I want is priceless .
To each their own works for me suoer well. I honestly love planners ,they make it easy for me to sight see on those kinda of rides , kick back listen to tunes , and just ride . But in limited quantities , like spicy food .

Ask 100 people the same question, you're gonna get 100 different answers.

Anyhow, google is your friend, maybe?

Here's the Lake Michigan Circle Tour >>website<< that gives you highway numbers, attractions, where to stay, etc....

Joecool and I did the express ride, aka Lake Michigan IBA SS1000 last year. This followed on parts of the Circle Tour path. Well marked, with BIG SIGNS that say, Lake Michigan Circle Tour.

Hope this helps, not expecting a response, since ya gave up on this thread.

Google found this
http://www.lakemichigancircletour.com/

Looks like a good site to start at...
As mentioned earlier, White Fish point is about 70 miles north of lk michigan. If you go up there, take time and visited the Sault Locks.

Bummer about flat6, sorry that I couldn't be of more help. I wonder if a specific route around the lake isn't to critical, I know that I just used a road atlas back then, well, I still have it with these days too. LOL.
