Left SA this morning around 6:30 am. Drove most of the "Three Sisters". Stopped to take a few pics at Pecos River and Judge Roy Beans old place. In Alpine tonight. Chickened out on tent camping and got a motel. Hope to make it into Big Bend early in the morning and out by way of Presidio

Glad to hear you made it to Alpine. Hopefully the rain will blow out and you'll have good weather the rest of your stay in Big Bend. The weather didn't turn out to be as bad as they forecast here in SA over the weekend and the early part of the week. Safe travels and keep the rubber down!!!

Just had a little hail and some really hard rain but it didn't last too long. Lots of weather going on up north from Eunice, NM to Andrews/Midland, Tx

I'm not a great writer so I'll post a lot of pics instead. Left Alpine at 6:30am this morning for Big Bend NP. I think I drove all the main roads. I even drove, those last 23 miles to the Far East side. That was a waste of an hour for me. The little tunnel was about the best. And the pretty cactus flowers. Then took 170 into Presidio.. that was an interesting "roller coaster" ride. Then put through Marfa to Fort Davis and drove the loop there. Staying in Fort Davis tonight. Think I will make it home tomorrow. I think 736 miles. That won't be any more hours than I drove today

Yep, those pics are very familiar, having been there last month. The "roller coaster" was awesome. Presidio is a real treat, eh? 🤓
