Wisconsin Dells Spring Ride In

2017

Come join us on Mother’s Day weekend in the Dells May 12th through 14th. We will be staying at “America’s Best Value Inn” this year. Arrangements have been made for a special rate for our group. This applies only if you make your reservation through April (the hotel manager).

Room rates are as follows:
Single king bed - $55.25 per night (2 nights with tax = $125.70)
Two queen beds - $58.65 per night (2 nights with tax = $133.42)
Remember: These rates are only available when you book with April
All rooms must be booked by, Friday April, 28th 2017. (after this date you will be charged the normal rate)

America’s Best Value Inn is located at:
2503 Wisconsin Dells Parkway North
Wisconsin Dell’s, WI 53965
Phone: 1-608-254-6444 (ask for April)7am -3pm only please.
Note: April does not work Tuesday or Thursday.

Most people start to roll in around noon on Friday and several of us meet at Monks at: 220 Broadway, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965

We normally return to the hotel and begin the serious business of socializing.
Dinner is on your own and most group up and go to one of the many restaurants in the area. Spend time Friday night visiting with the many people at the hotel and plan where you wish to eat. Remember this is a very informal gathering. You can do whatever you wish. Try to stay out of jail. Neither Randy nor I have any influence with the local police. The roads in the area are very nice riding and the scenery can be beautiful
Saturday morning we gather at Paul Bunyan’s Cook Shanty for breakfast at 9:00.
We will meet in the parking lot and collect the money for breakfast and issue tickets to you. We will then go in am pay and assure all is ready. Then we shall enter as a group and begin the strenuous task of filling up on a hearty breakfast. Several plan ride to various areas and will announce them at breakfast. If you are interested ask around and find a group to ride with. Many of our group members are very familiar with the area and lead some fantastic rides. Once back at the hotel we usually decide where to go for dinner. Many people have their favorite places and some go to the casino for their buffet. The casino has a shuttle service for those interested. This is a relaxed unstructured gathering. Just a time for new and old friends to visit swap stories and lies and enjoy each other’s company.
Beverages are often consumed in the parking area. (Or in this case on the upper deck) Remember contact April!!!

Last year I posted in in the New Jersey forum and had several people complain. 2 years ago I didn't posted it in the California site and someone complained. So many people check the Wisconsin board these days that I could almost just post it here.

I just want to make it clear I was poking fun at George and was not criticizing him in any manner in my last post above. I do realize he had a mission to help his co-coordinator Rail and he did a great job of posting that Spring Dells announcement. A fantastic job really considering George's mind is most likely occupied watching the weather forecasts and looking for those nasty snow storms.

Please note I am not posting it on the international scene. Somehow I find it hard to believe someone in Japan is going to ride over here for a 2 day event...LOL I didn't think you were serious or that you felt left out...LOL

I'm said to say I will not be going to the spring Dells Ride-in. I just have too much going on this spring. I will have to wait and see about the fall Ride-in. I'll miss seeing y'all. I'm sure Randy and George will keep you entertained. I hope the snow has melted off by then! :grin2: We have only had 1 snow day. It was less than 1".

OH, by the way George. I found out I do know someone that has a snow blower. She lives in Columbus and has had it 3 years and only used it twice. :serious: They get a lot more snow than we do.

Well Boomer we will miss you this spring, but I am sure we will talk about you. So far this year we have had some snow. Ugg. The real problem is the ice. Rained again yesterday and last night. Ice all over everything. Freezing again tonight.

It will be good seeing you again .

Good to hear that Jeff. It is always a pleasure visiting with you and Geri.

Good time
Picture this .
Balcony 6 am view of main corner of Dells . Rock wall face within reach of balcony leading up to mini golf course . Coffee , sugary teats , and news a high end drone is joining us to play . Thinking I got out my remote COX helicopter out to go all air wolf on drone >:).
Good time , I am think so . Oh I should mention the last time I had helicopter out I almost crashed into a car . The prop on this one is $150 min if I do not tear anything else up. Spendy toy with high learning curve .

#31 ·
The last helicopter I had I flew for about 10 minutes. Then Nancy wanted to fly it, so I let her try. (Hats the worst that could happen) Well she parked it in the top of a tree for around 2 plus years. Only took her about 5-1o seconds to do it too.

#36 ·
I could fly shop kitty around in that monster .
I will show Betty and tell her you said I NEED one .

#37 ·
The whole problem with flying toys is the crash. Lots of money lost when that happens.
I had a friend in the service who built one. All wood construction, wrapped in silk and
finished. It took over a year (i think) to complete. First flight and it was crashed. I do
believe he just tossed in the trash and quit flying. I also think it was his first attempt.

Quite a few inquiries from first timers out of state. This could be a big one.

#43 ·
The airliner in the video had 4 engines. Almost 36000 in engines.
Crashing one of those is not for the weak of heart.

Yes that 1/15th model A380 had four engines. Sure sounded nice when they spooled up to full rpm for takeoff. I can't imagine what one's heart would do if ya augered it into the ground right after takeoff and the nearly 7 gals of Jet A ignited.:crying::crying: :doorag:
