Radial tires

I'm getting a used Bunkhouse, It has 4.80-12 tires. Can you put radial tires(145R12) on the same rims? And are they better?

I put 155 SR 12 tires on my Bunkhouse, and they work just great. That was 5 years ago, and the friend that has it now still is using the same tires, not even showing signs of wear, and he has pulled it over 15,000 miles. They just keep running...and running.....and running.....

and my current Rollahome has them also.

Radials

What Harry said +! I put radials on my last Bunkhouse and pulled it about 20,000 miles, sold it to a friend last year and he has towed it all summer, and tread on those tires looks like new. I purchased a set of 155X12 tires that were made for old Honda Civics that fit the rims just fine and were very easy to balance. They were a little large for the opening in the fenders, so I had to open up the radius of them. My new Bunkhouse has radials on it from factory, I think they are 145Rx12. I sure like the way the camper rides with radials verses Bias ply tires, Lots smother over bumps
By the way Congrats on the Camper purchase check out the IBMC at

What air pressure are you using in both 4.80's and radials?

Some call for 50 psi, that is what they told me at Bunkhouse when I picked up my new camper with radials on it, I ran at least 35 or more in the 155X12 tires is seemed to tow easier
