IPOD question

2014 ABS model. When I use the back compartment USB hook-up to my IPOD, does that also provide power to keep the ipod charged like when plugged into a desktop? Also, when I stop for a long break or meal, does the ipod turn off?

Thanks

I have a 2013 level 3 wing. My IPOD is charged while riding when connected to the USB. It stops playing when I shut the bike off. The IPOD is on but not doing anything. When I start the wing back up, the IPOD starts at the same point where it stopped when I shut off the wing off.

Hope this helps.

Rockvillewinger is exactly right. My 2015 charges the IPOD as long as the motorcycle is running and resumes play selection from the point where I shut the motorcycle down.

Thanks! I have an older IPOD so I was using a USB drive for music and just now tested the IPOD function. I need to learn how to navigate using the different controls and that'll come in time I guess.

I use my IPhone plugged into the rear USB port also, the bike thinks it is an IPOD, I listen to pre-recorded music or PANDORA. PANDORA can be a little tricky, you have to have it playing before plugging it into the bike, and you do not have the normal PANDORA functionality of skipping a song and then if you loose the signal and PANDORA hangs up on you, you cannot get the IPhone to switch over to pre-recorded music. In the IPOD function you can use the bike's random selection mode to mix up the songs, just like if it there was a thumb drive plugged into to the USB port.
