DynaBob, Thanks for posting your pictures.

Jack, You all set for winter? That period of high Aurora activity was nice. We got to see them a bit too.

Thumbs up

Drop dead gorgeous pictures. Admire your fortitude, too.

Boys, when this man says it is cold outside, you best listen!

I'm using heated grips, seat, electric vest and heavy clothing if it gets below 50. No riding below 35 if I have any control over it. I admit it, I'm getting soft in my old age.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip. I do know about the Guadalupe Mountains, I live in Odessa, TX.

Sure appreciate Bob posting a few of his marvelous photos on this thread. They're some of the very best I've seen anywhere of Alaska and the route up through Canada.

Hereabouts it looks like winter is on its way. Dropped to 20 below this morning in the wee hours. Still not like it used to be when we didn't think winter had arrived until it hit -40F. And only about 1/2" of snow on the ground from two dustings a couple of weeks ago. Would like a foot or so to keep the frost from going too deep, but more than likely we'll get a couple of feet all at once, then I'll be busy clearing the driveway for a day or so. But... maybe we'll get some more of the aurora to compensate for the winter drudgery. Maybe I can get out for a while and collect some wintertime shots to post so as to illustrate what people miss by just seeing Alaska in the summer.

Stay warm - summer's coming again. Some day.

I'm a little disappointed. Why don't you post a few with some pretty scenery?
