New Ad Banners?

Is everyone getting a new ad banner being displayed at the bottom of the screen? You can close it sometimes but this one is annoying as it overlays the page. It has happened in the last week affecting all my Win 10 workstations using both Chrome and IE. See attached for example.

I suspect this type banner ad is keyed to your personal activity on the web. Right now I am seeing a CONSUMER REPORTS ad similar location. I joined Consumer Reports last year when doing research for a new vehicle for the missus and then dropped them after the month subscription was up.

I have noticed that this site seems to be increasing advertisement which seems to slow down page loads and I can hear the CPU on my old windoze box spinning up when I access this site; something it doesn't do for most other websites.

Thanks for this post, I too have just in the past couple days been having the same problem as the OP, it did not do this to me prior to the other day...

I just did the adblockplus, hopefully that fixes the problem, thanks!

Please say NO to chrome...

I just figure it is the price you pay for the price you don't pay to be on this forum.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I noticed them starting recently also, pretty annoying, installed adblockerplus noted above, works great and the page loads a lot faster.

If the ads are so annoying that everyone installs ad blockers, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of displaying ads?
I may consider an ad blocker myself.
