I find it strange that you're arguing the guy who says 'cut the crap' with the ads...but whatever you want. I mention starting a goldwing forum in jest. I dont really care enough to do it, it was a 'haha' thing. Again, seriously dont even have any interest in it. My references are basically saying that the ad generation doesnt have to be SO DRASTIC to pay for the low amount of cost that it takes to run the site. If they are doing so at a higher cost because of bad management, etc...then so be it, but the users shouldnt have to suffer because of it.

Most often I use Chrome on my iPad and log in. What I've noticed is that the indicator on the tab (at the top) seems to *always* be rotating, meaning something is either being downloaded (most probable) or uploaded. This slows down my wifi speed because something is always being transmitted.

Any idea what I might need to do?

Wow, what a difference Ad Blocker Plus has made in my viewing ability on this site! Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm not on the computer much anymore, let alone internet, but after loading it, I noticed faster load speeds, fewer locked screens, ease at typing and the unbelievable number of ads which are blocked when I open up each stream from this site.

I look forward to trying it on other sites, mainly to see how many ads are being blocked.

The Ad Blocker Plus download was nearly instantaneous and I like the ad count.

For those who are somewhat computer illiterate like myself, install the ad blocker software immediately! I'm glad I did...

You say signing in helps? I am currently signed in and there are seven to nine ads on every screen. I have to wait for them ALL to load with EVERY mouse click. It gets frustrating. If the ads would load and stay put, it would help but they don't. They all disappear and then reload with every mouse click.

Your statement above dose not ring true or the situation is truly hideous for a guest.

Today ABP is showing 40 ads on my laptop from this page. I can't even use my work computer to access this page during my lunch period. So many ads keep the system tied up too much. I can't use ABP on my work computer to stop it.

Any good reason to stay out of someone else’s mess is a gift to both parties.

I am auto login. This is not the problem.
Just now, 5:20pm EST, the little circle was spinning for 20 seconds, tranfering from API.verticalscope
also hangs on bcp.crwdcntrl.net

Also, the "multi quote" button does not work!

In addition to blocking ads, you might try hiding signatures and avatars. Some users have large images and/or weather widgets in their signatures which are memory hogs.

Log in and go to:USER CP
Under "Settings and Options" in the left hand pane, select "Edit Options"
Scroll down to the "Thread Display Options" and uncheck the "Show Signatures" and "Show Avatars" options. (you can also uncheck "Show Images" if things are still really slow)
