This site has pretty much become useless

Not sure where to post this, so if it needs to be moved, go ahead.

Unfortunately, This site has pretty much become useless to me because of all the ads clogging up the feed. I log in and watch the bottom of the screen and count 8 to 15 items trying to load. After moving to a couple of forums there is so much crap trying to load my machine locks up.

I know ads pay for the site, but this is ridiculous. I have a good service provider that routinely delivers 40-60 mbps. download speeds, and that's still not enough!

Frustrated,

Rayjoe

I see absolutely no ads after logging in when needed. I also use adblocker.

I use an iPad and I finally installed "NeverAds". It does stop all of the ridiculous banner ads but it also keeps many other Internet pages from being able to load. Safari pops up and says unable to access, possible content blocker in use.... or something like that. Soooooo I have to keep, turning it on for this forum and off for lots of other stuff. I think just learning to use TapaTalk to access this forum and just forget about trying to access it directly may be a better way to go. This site is often so slow I can't use it at all with AT&T 4G and 3 bars of signal. I check back here probably 3-4 times a day, but it sure gets frustrating. There ARE other sites that have been able to figure this out and still work fast.

Rayjoe,
Adblockplus could be your best friend while on this or any other ad infested site.
Remember me posting about how fed up I was with all the ads and so on?
Not since adblockplus.
Do yourself a favor and download it.
Your stress level will come down dramatically.

I use my iPad most of the time and use Wipr on it, never see any ads on this sight when I'm logged in. My guess is that you have some malware riding in your system and it gets activated by something on this sight.

That makes perfect sense. My wife on her Windows puter had a nasty malware virus tagging along . I found it when she could barely do anything on it . I love IOS ,just sayin.

Rayjoe another malware site I use with great results is HitmanPro. Each scan takes about 3 minutes and points out malware (tracking cookies, etc) which really slows down the computer.

Adware is fine here at home, but unavailable when I want to check in from work where I have no choice about using adware etc. Adware is showing 31 ads being stopped right now. At work it will go on longer than I have time to wait. At least I have the F6B sight to access from work during lunch etc. I am just disappointed here like the post at the top.

Any good reason to stay out of someone else’s mess is a gift to both parties.
