I've got some felt also - didn't want to go the baby-buggy-bumper route (too cheap and lazy). What I did do is buy some 1/8th?? inch vacuum line from the local auto store. Got the semi-squishy stuff, not the hard stiff stuff. Grabbed the can of silicone spray, put a small slice in the trunk rubber gasket opposite of the opening already there, squirted some silicone in the opening, rubbed some on the hose and slid it into the inside of the trunk gasket. Ran it all the way around inside the gasket. Returned the gasket to a round shape, trunk still shuts easily enough but now doesn't compress down and rub like it did before.
Just sad that after all these years Honda hasn't corrected this problem. It's not like this bike isn't their flagship model.
