My Daughter wants to do this. Actually she wants to go to Pinks for a dog, but this is the cheapest way for her to get there...plus Dad is paying.. She fits in Dee's cloths so that safety concern is gone.
They are almost done with registrations. The bonus list is being emailed this Saturday so you get a full week to plan the winning ride.
It started off as a rally and you could get extra bonus points for pictures of the Park N Ride signs. Last year they abandoned the PNR pictures and ran a straight 8 hour rally. It was well done. Nice and casual. The winning rider rode over 400 miles. I followed him across the Grapevine but when he decided to split lanes while doing 85 I decided to ride my own version of the rally.
This year the Rally Master made a comment about trying to incorporate the Park N Ride back into the rally so we'll what she comes up with.
Some of the points last year included a couple of old ICBM silo's in the Santa Monica Mountains up near the Getty Center. Even an old set of ruins fomr a road house and a stop at Newcomb's Ranch on Angeles Crest. It was a cold and wet day for much of the rally but still a lot of fun.
(Unless you were from AZ and checked in a few minutes late and watched half your points vaporize...) :cus::sad:
BTW, they are suppposed to be adding a lot of stops for the out of towners to get a good shot at a good finish. They have a very different starting plan. you pick your starting spot and get a receipt at 0700. Then you have to be in Alhambra at 3:00 PM. Last years winning rider started out at Lake Isabella.
The LOWCAL250 ran TWO rallies on consecutive Saturdays. One for CA and one for AZ. Sadly, no rallies this year. I hope they bring it back next year.
This year they are supposed to have starting points all over the Western US so you should be able to leave from Tucson or Phoenix and still be competitive if you can get to Alhambra by 3 PM.
I am thinking of getting one running here. Probably next year in the Same slot as the LOE1000 if it doesn't happen. 1st Sat in Oct. 8 and 12 hr run. Stay tuned...

I knew the 101 would/could be bad news so I hit it first thing in the morning. I was going to run it two years ago but when I saw that the Rally Lunch was in Inglewood at noon I decided I didn't want to mess with that mess.
That silo was a real pain. It was wet first thing in the morning and too many trucks were running up and down the road. But that is one of the coolest things I have seen in So Cal.Kind of hard to call it a hidden gem but in it's own way, it is!
Looks like I'll most likely be spending Friday night in Kingman. Route 66 stuff and then what every I can get in the LA area. Can cover more ground on I40/15/66 then running SD to LA via the Salton Sea. Should be fun.
