I plan on riding through Monument Valley in June and I would like to ride down to Tuba City and take 264 to near Chinle. My question - is 264 a paved road? Scenic?
Thanks in advance.

I've ridden that road and it is paved. Somewhat scenic too! Let me know if you find the cap to my Butler Mug that blew off just west of Window Rock! :)

There's quite a web of Indian Routes up that way as well. Some are paved, many aren't.

I did a 'shortest distance' ride up that way from west of Winslow as direct as I could to Farmington, NM.

Quite a bit of desolate area up that way - you'll do much better than I did my first time getting some stunning pictures of the area.
