I am getting ready to take in my 2013 Goldwing for a 12000 miles service and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good Honda dealer in the Phoenix area. I would prefer the west side but would consider any in the valley. Thanks in advance.
I hate to say it because I've not been a fan of RideNow for many years. But in the past two years they have treated us really well in the service department on other bikes. I never took my Wing there but I must admit they have done right by us for our Spyder and Yamaha. RideNow Surprise on Bell Road.
I rarely had my Wing in the shop but when I did, I had good service from North Valley Honda on Cave Creek. Not real close to you in Surprise. And of course, D&D in Tempe and Western in Scottsdale but that is a long ways from you.
D&D in Tempe did my suspension upgrade & I was very happy with them. I bought my bike from North Valley and would buy from them again, but the service department does not have my confidence.
IMO, get the videos and a service manual and DIY. Then no worries on getting screwed by a dealer. This forum is a great source of knowledge and some on here are more than willing to answer questions. It may take alot longer than having the dealer do it(my case usually)but you will know it was done right.YMMV
What does the 12k say needs to be done? I doubt it's much more than an oil change. I'd take my bike to Western Honda if I was in need of dealership work. If it's not warranty work the only place I'd even think about going is D&D. Those guys are outstanding, and they have the best tire prices in town.

:agree::agree::agree::agree::agree::agree: I was just there this morning. You can't beat Mel & Mark and the other guys. If they don't know it, nobody knows it. Well, maybe Stu O.

I would have seconded this view a week ago ... but ....
I got tires put on there while on a trip last year. Good price, good service to fit me in on short notice. But discovered last week that they cross-threaded two bolts putting my front fender back on. Broke one off trying to get it out. Guess that can happen to anyone, but I ain't too happy.
I have had good luck with Apache Honda 36th Ave and Camelback. Randy is the Goldwing mechanic and did me right on my 150,000 mile full service, tires and brakes. Have used D&D previously, ok for oil and regular service but had a couple of "comebacks" on repairs...plus it became geographically undesirable given that they usually required you to drop the bike off for most work...also didn't appreciate the long lead time on repairs. JMO.

I'd be very careful if you use RideNow. I bought a Piaggio scooter from a guy that had bought it from RideNow. He only rode it 1 month and came out from lunch and it wouldn't start. He had it towed back to RideNow and they told him it had a short in the wiring harness. That would cost $600 plus another $1500 to put it in. I bought the scooter from him for $1000 and all that was wrong was a bad voltage regulator. I bought a new one and have put 5000 trouble free miles on it. I think I would want better mechanics working on my bike than what they have. Guess that is why I do it myself. BTW, If you haven't been riding in our haboobs, you can probably double the miles on the air filter. Don't be afraid to invest in Fred H videos and do it yourself!
Dropped the wing off at Apache. Randy is looking at my fuel issue and the brake shudder. Was basically told by a few folks that he is the Wing go to guy in town for difficult issues.
Both Randy and the Service manager were there . Will report back.
