I haven't made it there yet but lots of friends have. Yes it is good, not expensive and yes it can seat 6. Again this is what I am told.

I hope so. We're going there Saturday for breakfast. Leaving Fountain Hills at 7:00 should put us there around 9:30.

We had four people from the valley and three people from Payson meet at Skull Valley. Too bad, I wanted to try it. We went on to the airport restaurant in Prescott. I've been flying in to there for the last 30 years, but this is the first time I've driven into it. Good food at reasonable prices.

New tires and F4 windshield installed and ready to ride. Chili Verde Omelet awaiting tomorrow a.m.

Remember, Skull Valley is closed. We're headed to Globe tomorrow for breakfast. Leaving the Shell station in Fountain Hills at 0700 and going to La Luz Del Dia.

Bad news, good news.

Skull Valley Diner is open...bad news it is under new ownership and is called Sal's Skull Valley Diner. The really bad news (for me) my favorite chili verde omelet is no longer on the menu . The good news...the food was good, portions generous, staff (including Sal) very friendly and efficient....still gonna miss my omelet.

Is that the same one that closed? Is it on the main road or off on the side road?

Man, I am getting really confused. I may have to take a ride out there myself and see what i can find.
Inquiring minds want to know????? I did 325 miles this morning for breakfast. Ftn Hills to Globe, up the Salt River Canyon to Show Low, across to Payson and down the Beeline to home. By the way, the Café I went to in Globe was also closed, but at least there was another one a block away.

I totally understand that the Skull Valley Café may have closed since my last visit seeing that there is new ownership...it is on the main road, across the railroad tracks from the "closed" general store (opposite side of the street). I too have had similar issues with restaurants in Globe but look on the bright side...what a great ride you had...that's one of my favorite rides except I take the route through Fort Apache on the reservation.

Does anyone have their phone number? I can't seem to find them and I want to make sure they're open before I make another trip up there. The old number is disconnected. Thx

I have it on good authority that the new owners have reopened the cafe!!! A group of friends ate there on Monday. I regret I don't have the new phone number; perhaps Directory Assistance?

Hey m45mcdan Can u give more info on the route thru Fort Apache. I would like to try that route next time. Thx
Just as you come up out of Salt River Canyon take a right on 73 it's a nice two lane road that will drop you into Pinetop at the Hondo Casino (think that's the name). Just changes up the ride a little...some days we ride on to the Big Lake loop and return to the valley the same way or through Payson...just depends.
