D&D is the best. If you go over there give your thoughts and prayers out to Mel.
PLEASE keep these people in your Thoughts and Prayers.
This is an important request especially for those of you that go to D&D Discount Motorcycles. Mark DeSimone, co-owner of D&D, asks for your thoughts and prayers for co-owner Mel Davies. Mel is usually the one that runs the front desk. Mel has been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. This can damage areas of the brain from pressure caused by the growing tumor. They plan to operate to remove it on April 28th. They already know they cannot get all of it, so they hope for the best outcome. Please, PLEASE keep Mel constantly in your thoughts and prayers.
I've been friends with both Mark and Mel for over 10 years now. We live on opposite sides of the town so I don't see them too often anymore. I was just down there on Monday and was going to stop in when another one of our friends reminded me they were closed on Monday. This is sad news and I will be praying for him for both the surgery, and complete recovery.
News from D&D this morning is very positive. Mark spoke with Mel’s daughter this morning while she was at the hospital visiting with Mel.
Mel is awake, talking and .. complaining of a headache, no surprise there! The operation lasted 11 hours, the surgeon said he removed 98% of the tumor and was “extremely pleased” with the operation. The plan is for five days recovery in the hospital and then he will be released for recovery at home. There was no comment regarding cancer, I am certain that tissue screening is being performed.
I also talked to Mark, he said Mel is expected back to work in about 2 months.
Yes, it definitely sucks. About 5 yrs. ago my brother lost a kidney due to cancer and he sent me an email yesterday saying he now has a mass on his liver. More testing to follow.
I talked with Mark about a week ago and he said Mel had tohave additional surgery due to some bleeding.Hope all goes well I will call Mark again this week.
Benign is the key word here. My boss had an egg size benign tumor removed from his brain 5 years ago and is 100% today. Prayers for Mr. Davies.
