Hello Bill,
I have 2001 with 260 km and when I pulled my front forks for the first time I dropped in a set of the Traxxion 1.2 springs....along with 15W fork oil....Could not be happier....They'll last for the life of the bike...
When you pull the front forks make sure you have top quality grease for your bushings and seals...The traxxion people will provide you with the grease you need.
Also, a seal driver is a must if you're going to tackle this job....Oh yeah, make sure that you loosen the upper triple tree bolts before you unscrew the front caps...or you'll distort the heads and you'll have a nightmare on your hands....I can stress this enough...
