Hey Bud, you still have me as a roommate for the Darkside Ride In in Maggie Valley? If you have a close friend you'd rather have room with you, I could probably find something else. Otherwise, I plan on being there with you on Thurs, Fri, and Sat night. It is at the Comfort Inn, the host hotel is it not?

I am considering coming to the Ride In but haven't committed yet. How many nights do you have a room for and so on. I don't smoke or anything, I probably snore but I am interested if you'd have me. If someone else shows any interest in sharing with you, by all means give it to them. I just ran it past the Wife and got no reply which usually means trouble. But, I haven't given up being there. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, interesting question. Short answer is no, will not cause an issue for the electrical system - IF - it is installed with sufficient gauge wiring and a protection circuit. Longer answer - feel free to call me to discuss the issue.

CCA - while more CCA is indicative of a higher capacity battery - for the bike what is more important is the reserve capacity. While the two tend to go hand in hand - CCA is how much current a battery can provide without dropping voltage too low. Reserve capacity is how long a battery can provide a set current (or power something) before battery voltage gets too low. A good example is a deep-cycle marine battery. Not real high on CCA - but can provide power to a trolling motor all day long.

Read your very informative post on batteries and 1800s. I have a 15' f6b. I am adding an amplifier to the bike. For extra reserve power, I was considering running a car gel cell battery with 700cca. In your opinion, would this create a problem for the electrical system in operation or charging? Thanks in advance.
