I thought that was from the Gunfighters. I picked up one of their pilots after the front seater took a .51cal to the roof of his mouth. They punched out off of Phu Cat, headed toward the ocean. I got them on the beach.

When I later went to Da Nang for R&R departure, the boys took me for a ride - about 2 hours in the back seat of an F-4!! Still one of the highlights of my flying career. Wow - what an airplane.

That 20mm was one **** of a weapon.

I also, occasionally, wear a tie clasp of the 30mm chain gun from the Apache program.

Thanks for the information and confirmation.

Ride safe, and thanks for your service.

Curious about your avatar. It looks like one I've seen from some F-4 drivers back in the Nam days. Which unit is using that one?

    Thanks,

Hello Steve, read on one of your previous posts that you were moving from Edgewater? Wife retired about 2 weeks ago, (I was already retired) our house in KY sold about a month ago, and we have been busy moving permanantly to our home here in Edgewater. If you are still here maybe we can go on one of the rides. I have been looking at the "welcome back" ride; maybe the Jan. 1 ride also.

M61A1MECH, the character in your avatar looks like a Phantom II holding a Vulcan gun pod. Is that correct? I'm an old Phantom Phixer myself.
