Turn Signal, Brake Lights, Cruise Issues

1. Turns signal indicators on dash always dimly lit.
2. Same get much brighter when brake is applied.
3. Front mirror turn signals blink correctly.
4. Rear turn signal nearly nothing, but Hyperlites work.
5. Brake lights nearly nothing, but Hyperlites work.
6. Can turn on cruise but will not respond to pressing Set.

Hyperlites are wired to top half for brakes bottom half for turn signal (might be the other way around). They work fine.

Recently had seat off to install GL2Way CB and BikeMP3.
Also have Centec fuse block in left rear cubby which I had to replace the hinge for yesterday. Very tight for hands.
But the I noticed #1 above well before messing with cubby hinge.
Can't be sure if that was after installing GL2Way CB and BikeMP3.

Any suggestions?

Not sure what a hyper light is. But sounds aftermarket. Somehow, that sounds like the culprit.

Are you saying that the left and right turn signal indicators are always on about half brightness on the dash at the same time ? If this is the case and other lights on the back of the bike are acting strangely, then it is caused by the connections in the big grey plug (I'm guessing around 24 wires?) under the seat just to the right of the relays. It is in a black rubber boot between the relays and the frame on the right side (as you are sitting on the bike). I'm not sure which wire it is that is not making the good connection, but you should be able to make the problem appear and then go away by wiggling that plug. To fix it, I took a small screw driver and bent each prong slightly so it would make better contact, and the problem has never come back. I've had to do this on 2 different bikes.

Edit....I just re-read your post....numbers 1 and 2 are the dead giveaways. I would almost guarantee your problem is in the plug I described....the repair is free and easy to do. Let us know what you come up with....
ALSO.....IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY,THE BIG GREY PLUG IS TO THE RIGHT OF THE RELAYS ON 06 AND NEWER BIKES, BUT AT THE VERY BACK OF THE SEAT WHERE THE FENDER MEETS THE FRONT, BOTTOM OF THE TRUNK ON 01-05 BIKES.

It is definately a ground issue. Go back to the last thing you instaslled and check the ground. Also check the ground for your others items recently installed. You may have a pinched wire also.

Hope this helps

Same exact thing happened to my Dad's bike half way through a 9,000 trip along the Pacific Coast last year. Since I had already had that issue and fixed it on my bike, I pulled the seat and fixed that plug in a hotel parking lot.......problem was fixed and has not re occurred...

I do not even know what a hyper light is.
But I suspect they are wired to the light circuit and are going to ground and not allowing power to the main lights.

Just guessing.

Yep, it's the green ground wire that grounds the whole rear of the bike's lights as well as the turn signal system. It is in that connector that was already mentioned under the seat. You will probably find the connector darkened and melted around the wire on both sides of the connector. A hard wired jumper across the connector is the best fix for it. The cruise issue is probably a handlebar lever switch.

Jumped the green wire across the connector and it started working.
Cleaned up the Hyplerlite wiring a bit.
Then the Hazard button got stuck.
2nd time in 2 days.
I hate those Honda push toggle buttons.
I guess I need to buy a replacement module or something.
Will test cruise when it gets warmer.
It may be the cruise would not set due to bike thinking brake was on.

Thanks for the help everyone.
Saves mucho time and frustration.

I had the exact same thing and my bike is orange too. Maybe our pumpkins are getting mushy. I hate the original handlebar buttons too. I did have my mechanic run a wire to jump around the connector under the seat and the half on turn signal indicators etc. have not messed with me since.

Glad you got her fixed ! It took me a few hours to figure it our the first time it happened to me. I knew it was a ground somewhere, but I started by disconnecting all of the plug and play items behind the license plate. The first time I did that, the problem went away, but a few miles down the road it came back, sooooo back to the drawing board. When I finally wiggled that big plug,I could make the problem come and go each time I moved it. The fix was pretty easy after that......Enjoy the riding. I'm scheduled to get a foot of snow and 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice here in the next day or so.....:frown:
