Not real fond of the protectors on Wingstuff, any suggestions? White bike, dark color is not good.

Techspec are great, I run them on all my bikes!
I Just ordered a set a few days ago for my 2013 after seeing them on a few bikes here on the board. Yours included. They will be here today. I also ordered a small sheet of matching snake skin padding to make some rub bumpers for the back of my bags where our helmets will rub against the paint when using the helmet locks.

Yea...... Respectfully, I still find them a bit expensive...for my taste, at least. I'm sure we all have different budgets... And let me repeat - I'm sure it's better quality than a DIY version (cutting it yourself from a larger piece). I might be in minority here but $80 for a decal (essentially) is not cheap...IMHO

Bought the tech spec in a larger roll and did exactly what zee fifty is talking about. Placed them in the back by the helmet locks so the helmets touch the pad and not the bike paint. Also for the tank sides as I wear motoport gear and they can be a bit tough on the paint.

I received and installed my pads today. No buyers remorse whatsoever. Nice pads. Not even comparable to thin decals. Nice chamfered edges, nice quality rubber.

I have a tall rider ultimate seat and I found the fit of the pads to be better if I flipped mine using the left on the right and so on. According to the website photo the logo is supposed to be in the front...... they just fit better and looked better flipped with my seat in my eyes.

Now it's to the rear of the bags for the helmet rub pads.

I like the chrome.

While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I see no need for them either. I have 110,000 on my pearl white, with a little wax my bike looks almost new. I hear paint on the newer bikes is inferior to the 08, maybe that is the issue?

I'm not sure about the 3M product, but FWIW Techspec use to make a clear version, I had it on one of my Gixxers, but I don't see it listed on their site anymore, looked great for a couple months, but after that was a dirt and grim magnet so I removed it and went to the black color.

Perhaps we are all built a bit differently. When I ride with my feet on the pegs, then my knees touch the tank, unless I make a conscious effort for that not to happen, which I do some of the time. I thank you for your advice.

My knees used to touch the tank. Now they touch the pads.

TechSpech custom cuts, send them the pattern, they send you the pads. Custom tank pads, custom helmet scuff pads and one for in front of the luggage rack to stop roll bag chaffing. All Snakeskin pattern which is just little diamonds.

That makes the problem even worse. If the ugly things get uglier yet by peeling ect, then ugly is amplified even more than what ugly they were to start with. In over 1/2 million miles I have yet to rub, dent a tank or any other damage from knees that would in any way point to need for these "upgrades" to the bike.

Do you wear textile riding pants or jeans? I never scuffed mine with jeans. I scuffed nearly immediately with my KLIM riding pants.

The Techspec stuff doesn't peel or fade. Maybe that is why it is 70 instead of much less.
