I want to be respectful, but I am looking for a group of riders, in the Boise area, that are in their 40's, or there about. It seems that many of the local groups are much older than I am.

If you happen to know of anything going on locally, please let me know.

I bought my 2002 GL1800 in 2003, and I was 31 at the time.

Everyone thought that I'd lost my mind.

I'm now on my second GL1800, a 2008 NAV/ABS model.

The Goldwing demographic moved a lot younger with the GL1800.

Agreed , I rode a 89 Yamaha venture touring bike when I was 40 and loved it , but was all alone . Which I loved , cuase I hate riding in groups . I got lots of crap when I rode the OLE man bike . Than but a 1500 wing . Really really got crap. Than I rode a 1800 bought one 1 week later . Started passing friends on sport bikes on the inside in corners . THEY SHUT UP than .:wink2:

You are being most respectful.
The reason the GL1800 is not usually the bike of choice for the younger riders, why, they are having a ball on their R 1's and the like.
Once they have the need for speed out of their system and having survived some take time to smell the flowers and discover the Wings.
The younger riders are atypical .

I can understand your wanting to find a younger group to ride with. Most of the old farts have to stop every 1/2 hr. to take their meds, stop to pee, change their depends, well, you get it. Oh chit, I'm 71 and in that group. :crying::clap2: Not really I still ride my 1000 mi. days routinely.

Late 50's here, I rode dirt bikes and snowmobile's for 40+ years, things change, moved over to road bikes and touring around and love it. Took my then 13 year old daughter to Billings the last time Wingding was there. Just imagine seeing everything from the seat of a wing at 13. Life changing! It was. She's got her motorcycle license now but she's too tiny for a wing. I am also the youngest rider in our weekly group ride. I've seen others have to give it up, and that hurts some. Numbers have dwindled and our riding season is short (for some) so it's hard to get folks to show up for the group ride.
