Didn't want to get banned or anything, but I wanted acknowledge a certain motorcycle accessory company that I visited in Knoxville, TN on Tuesday of this week. They sell an certain LED headlight bulb and I was having a problem with an HID setup on my bike, namely that one of the HID bulbs wasn't working. As this company was on the way that our group was travelling I stopped in near the end of the workday and attempted to purchase 2 of these LED bulbs for installation when I got back home in IL.

I was greeted by the company owner named, Lewis something :wink2:, and he was quick to accommodate my request with one addition..."Let me install them while you wait...it'll only take a few minutes...I don't want anyone riding hundreds of mile with only 1 headlight"

If anyone knows this Lewis guy you know this is his manner. No charge for install, ride safe, thanks for your purchase.

Just sayin'

Thanks, Lewis, you are the man

Yep, known Lewis and used his creations many times over the years. Been to his shop a bunch too. When it comes to Wing electrical stuff, I trust no one else. I have ridden for 3 hours each way for him to do stuff I may have able to get done near me but I know it will be done right and, if he charges, it will be reasonable.

I didn't know his name was taboo here though. Oh well.

Not that I know of. I would not now why. He has helped countless people on this board... Customers or not.

As long as you didn't buy him out and you are now the owner ... No problem giving a shout out about a good experience with a company.

If it has anything to do with an ELECTRICAL CONNECTION , Lewis is the man to go to. :wink2:

I'm fortunate enough to live less than 5 miles from EC's shop!
Lewis, Phillip, Nicole, all great people!
Wheeled in there late on a Thur. afternoon with a bad fog light switch. (Leaving first light on 3 day trip!) Phil had 'em up & runnin' in 'bout 5 min!
None better in the biz you ask me.

Previous mentions of non sponsor dealerships/companies has resulted in bannings/admonishments here at g1800riders.com as it has evolved through the years. I have visited EC a few times and purchased many items from them online and have always received top notch products and service. The original post was SIMPLY meant to be a compliment for a great company and owner. No need to read too much into it.

Generally only happens when the non-sponsor engages in self-promotion of their good/services. I've not heard of anyone getting their wrist slapped for saying "Acme Widgets makes a good thingamajig".

Thanks for the link. I've looked over their website and found a number of items I'm interested in adding to our GW. Sounds like a good company to do business with.

Bill

You can't do any better than EC. Fantastic products AND outstanding customer service.

Buy safely.....and happily.

It was just as good as you said. I had the prime rib and scallops, which was spectacular. The owner came around to see how we liked the food and service. We told him you sent us there and it was as good as you told us it would be. He was obviously pleased to hear that.

Thank you, again.

Actually EC does make one product that I have installed and have been happy with.
That is the low beam delay. I installed it to protect the HID low beams I had tried. They worked as advertised. When I pulled the HID's and went back to stock and then LED bulbs, I left the delay relay in. It's well engineered and manufactured. I can recommend it.

I am happy with the Power Plate. I just took the precaution of upgrading the supplied relay to something more proven than a cheap generic Chinese relay that could, and I repeat could, give me problems.

My whole point here was that everything that EC makes, as with any other manufacturer, is not necessarily golden.
Lewis may be the greatest guy in the world, but he's still an entrepreneur, and sometimes corners need to be cut in order to maximize profit.

Caveat Emptor.

As the dust settles on this thread I would like to say I have known Lewis Preston (and his parents) for over 10 years and have been a customer for almost that long.

Only once in that time have I been disappointed in a product. It was a turn signal relay (I think that's right) that didn't function as I (or he) had hoped. Guess what? I mentioned it to Lewis when at his shop and he was on it immediately. He replaced the relay with one that functioned well. I'm sure he had many other things to do that day, but he stopped and took care of me, the customer. That's the Lewis Preston I know. I feel very fortunate to finally (after retiring to TN) live close to great riding and EC.

EC still gets my business every time.

Support small businesses........safely.

For a day, I thought two sides stated their opinions - rather politely thank you - and would agree to disagree.

Both sides have presented their respective opinions in multiple posts.

Please let it rest now.
