No polite or gentlemanly way to ask this but.......

I have a 'problem' when riding my '09 GL1800 for more than 100-150 kilometres (65-100 miles). I get a VERY uncomfortable pain in the 'personal fleshy area'.......that is, the back-side of 'The Boys'. I have to stop and get off for a few minutes........not great when on a long trip.

I've tried various gel-seats but they are really no help. Will anyone else admit to having experienced this problem?

I hesitate to ask but.........Suggestions?

I knew I was leaving myself 'wide-open' (so to speak).......

I knew I was leaving myself 'wide-open' (so to speak) when I started this thread.

However, I appreciate the feedback those who responded with serious, constructive suggestions and resisted the natural urge to respond otherwise.

Today I went to Walmart, Canadian Tire, a local bicycle shop and SportChek.

Walmart in Canada apparently do not carry compression shorts or beaded seat covers. Canadian Tire had beaded seat covers but only the kind designed for 'cages' and not the kind that are strictly seat pads.

My local bike shop owner said he had compression shorts but was kind enough to suggest that I might be able to get a similar brand and SportChek.

I got a pair at SportChek for $40 and will be trying them out on my next ride of more than a few kilometres to see if they help.

Please give us an assessment of your new seat covers and do understand that some of us know for a fact that this is or can be a serious issue... Take care!
