Looking for ideas on adding a little custom paint or graphics to my wing and trailer. Any thoughts?

That is such a personal choice, tuff call, if you are on the conservative side some gold pin strips ( assuming your bike is the one in you avatar ie red or criminson and trailer matches) you may end up with pages of suggestions, lol I may not be the best person to make any suggestions, as I don't even care for chrome on my bike, I like to see it on others, just not mine ! been there done that, bottom line I am to old and lazy, lol I like the fact I can wash and dry the wing in less than twenty minutes and be done, lol but I have seen folks who put a lot of time in money into murals and such, and I can enjoy looking at them, but not for me, good luck in you quest !

We had ours pinstriped in 2006 by Steve Kafka out of Phoenix, AZ. He had pinstriped my 1984 and 1988 Wings, I have always liked the work he does. While it may not appeal to everyone, Jen and I like it. The striping is all done freehand, he is amazing to watch, each line is painted in a single stroke. The design that is on the lid of the trailer is about 36" long.

Thanks for the ideas

yak50 - You are correct. It's a "to each his own" type of thing. Even differences between my wife and I. I wanted a painted "hot" pin-up girl on the top of the trailer, but she didn't. Can't understand why? hehe

Gwingbuzz - Yes I would like contact info for your guy in Linton. Do you have pics of his work?

zaT111 - That's really nice!! It's true art in his work. Some have it and others don't....awesome!

....and then there is rickathome - You cracked me up

You may want to look around at some artists work or stripers. Most times they will have a picture book to get an idea what you might like. Not everyone has the same taste and you will most likely you will like one over another. If you talk to them they may drag something out of you your not even aware of. interests, places you have been, certain colorsthat contrast or that you like can all be an inspiration to give your bike that little touch.

Great ideas

Thanks for posting these web sites. Great ideas and looks like very good quality. I know there is probably a wide range in price, but can you give me a ball park?

When we had Kafka (http://www.kooltie.com/kafka/) do our Wing, we met him in Davenport, Iowa where he was at a Hot Rod show. He pinstriped the Wing, trailer and 2 helmets in about 2 and a half hours. While his work is not inexpensive, $750 for what he did was worth it for us.
As was stated before, go and look at some examples of what is out there, find what appeals to YOU. Custom paint work of any kind is subjective. Each painter has their own style, strengths and weakness, find what "speaks" to you. We had looked at a number of other artists work when we were considering having our GL1800 done. But I found myself comparing everything back to Steve's work. I have known Steve since 1985 when he pinstriped my 1984 GL1200. My Wife surprised me by contacting Steve and then we set up when he was doing a show somewhat near us.
