Let me know when it gets back to $1.79, like it was when 'you know who' was elected 5 some years ago.

Then I'll get excited.

At $1.79/Gallon you must be referring to either 2004 when Bush II was first elected, after which it steadily increased, and hasn't yet returned to it's peak in 2008, or maybe you are referring to the Bush II policies induced Stock Market Crash that was handed to our current president. Before you go off quoting Michele Bachmann who isn't exactly known for haviing her facts right . . . but it sounds good. LOL The chart below actually is the facts.

Gas prices in central In.

Well the group we ride with meet ta a gas station ,I filled both of our tanks, price was $3.24.9 per gallon. We rode abou 25 mile east to eat and gas at this town was $3.14.9 per gallon. Closer to the interstate it was $3.59.9 per what a price spread. It has always bothered me when these station raise their prices, knowing what they already paid for the gas that is in their underground tanks that they ALREADY PAID FOR. Guess they need more money too. Oh well I'm trying not to get my blood pressure up to high again!! Should practice what I tell people-- don't worry about things you can't control , as it won't do any good except get you closer to having a heart attack or something else goes wackey because you worry too much . :eek:4:

Mike, you'll have to come to come south. 1.26 per liter here.
Last week I happened upon a particular gas station that has a wonky pump. I was filling my car a week ago. My car takes premium gas. It has a 66 liter tank and according to my on board computer, I had burned 56 liter. So I started filling. The pump stopped at 28.7 liter. I tried and tried to get more gas in, to the point it over flowed onto the ground. The pump registered 30 liters $42 and change. I checked my gas gauge and sure enough my tank is full. Turns out the pump is pumping double the amount of gas that it's registering. I told a few people who just refused to believe me. One of my friends went and checked it out and told me there was nothing wrong with it. Turns out, he used regular and the pump only does it on premium. I went back a week later with my bike. I was on empty, it should have taken about $30 to fill it. I used the same pump and picked premium again, sure enough, it cost me $14 and change. So that night I took my car, my wifes car, and two gas cans and filled them all. Total, $78 for everything. LOL. I'm not telling anyone about this pump. I'm riding the wave until they figure it out!!!!!

California around four bucks. Just keeps going up while we read about the price of gas everywhere else going down. Soon we will go into our mandatory 'winter blend' which is barely volatile enough to work in an oil lamp. I live close enough to Nevada that I occasionally cross the border to get real gas during winter. Plus our politicians, the best anywhere, recently decided it was a great time to enact the highest gas tax increase in history to give us the highest gas tax in the country.

But at least we have Pelosi.

Not to rain on anyones parade but gas always goes up in the summer between June and August and starts dropping back down in September and October. Look carefully at the graph Bluehighways posted on post 8 and pay attention to the months where it goes up and down and it's pretty clear.

You could spend months analyzing the data and I do agree that there are a lot of taxes levied on fuel and that one administrations policies may increase or decrease the available supply (or perceived supply) available. However, at the heart of the change in price is the basic fact that we travel more in the summer and there is higher demand against a relatively flat supply curve and therefore the commodity is more scarce and therefore more valuable.

Enjoy it while it's low.....just don't think it's going to stay there....it will be right back up there again next summer like it always is.
