Hi all,

My better half has to work this Satureday, so I am thinking of doing an RTE to the Lake mills/Johnson Creek area. Pine Cone restaurant in Johnson Creek serves unless someone knows of a better spot. Weather is supposed to be decent (high of 55 in Racine Area). Any one interested?? Would like to start meeting some of you from the board. I am thinking between 10-12 time frame. either early lunch or late breakfast time frame. Temps should be up a little by then. Let me know.

I see no reason why I can't make it . Nail down a specific time and I most likely will be there .

Not on the menu at the Pine Cone but I always order it. The eighteen wheeler omlette. I will be honest thinking of a much better place unless you are set on the PC.

Better is better , just sayin.

I am open to suggestions in that area. I just knew of that one particular place. if you have been to others or have something within a reasonable radius of there that would be better, please suggest. I am open.

For time, lets nail down 11:00, place to be determined... I just dont have a lot of experience out that way. Just thought it would be a nice ride (from Racine).

let me know

dknudson007, Please accept my apology as I have been thinking about it and should not have jumped in where I did not belong!!!!!!!!

I have no problem with the Pine Cone!!!!!!! They have a tremendous amount of things on the breakfast menu!!!!!!!!!!!!

So set the time and see no reason why I won't be there:thumbup:

Pine Cone is 8miles from my house. Good for breakfast and a very good bakery. Very busy truckstop.

FatBoyz in Ft Atkinson is very good for lunch if youre looking for burgers/etc.

Dirty plates and cups. I also got sick from the food the rest of the night. Not to mention the food was over priced for the serving size and was not that good. Pass on this place if you are looking for places to eat.

Typical greasy spoon. At least stop in for the home-made bakey

Any plans on a ride after that?
I will be taking back roads back north , most likely to Stevens Point . Where my daughter and I are attending another Bond opening as we have done since she was 12 . Her boyfriend was told to stay home ,because he would ruin our Bond movie bonding . That's my girl right there  Bond ,,, James Bond .

Sounds like a good day to stop in Teresa Wis, at the widners cheese factory, and get some of the famous Brick cheese. It is right on the way from J Creek to SPoint. Even Mr Happy will rub his belly. full of cheese.

yes i read the reviews, most said it was great but there are always some folks that give bad reviews

ate there a few times but that was many years ago, really don't remember much about it, hopefully a few of us will survive !!!

has Mr Weeks ever ate there ?

hopefully a few of us will survive !!!
I will be one that survives . Wife says I am half billy goat . I do eat everything and completely ignore the 3 second rule if it falls to floor. I am firm believer in building up immunity system . Screw the antibacterial soap, using same utensils , sharing food , and ( what really gets most people) tasting it to see if its really spoiled or just looks bad . I am AB positive blood for transfusions if necessary. Mostly compatible with all blood types , just sayin . But you will never be the same after , so weigh options thoroughly.

I read a few reviews when I did a Google search.....3 rated the place "Excellent", but the weird thing about these "reviews" was that they all had used the word "insane" or "insanely" when describing the quantity and quality vs. price. Hmmmm. seems to be too much of a coincidence.

Insane, insanely sounds like a place for us i think . The potions are big even by my standards . I have been there a few times, they make a cream puff the size of a softball and its 3/4 cream . Prices are very reasonable with more than ample seating . It's been a few years since I been there . They used to make smiley faced cookies . I will have to bring one home if still do . I wonder if I can talk them into making a Darkside smiley for me like George's sig line . Bet I can ,

You don't read very well I guess, dirty, got sick, truck stop, poor service, greasy spoon, I like it so much I moved there, and the 4 people that liked it... used the very same language... most likely the owner rating himself

I been there about 20 times, and always made the correct choice, across the street, in the gas station, for breakfast pizza, to hold me over until we got to Wyndham for the brunch, or Machine shed.

This isnt on me, John said the yuk word, and you posted the review, without reading it.

I thought that Curtis's head was "the standard" when discussing how large a food item is. When did this change ?

In the old days before they rebuilt it was really a choke and puke!!!!!!!!!!!

Rail the first thing you see when walking in is the bakery and that will blow your mind with the size of items.

I would suggest patience so we can all sit together it is a truck stop after all and quit busy!!!!! Someone needs to go in and see about getting a couple tables together but of course after it is determined the number or close to the number of people coming:thumbup:

All summer long on week days instead of potatoes you could substitute fruit. A bowl and I mean a bowl of strawberries!!!!!!!
