I'm going to have my 05 blue wing custom painted. I'm looking for ideas on what to have done to it. Any help? Pictures would be a great help.

That's really a tough one as each person making his bike different is one of the best things about Wings. The variety keeps it new.

One suggestion I would like to make is, have all of the lower plastic parts painted with color matched Epoxy paint to protect against chips in the paint from road debris and small rocks.

You have to decide for yourself. I am convinced that is what makes this pastime just so much fun for so many of us. How to make yours special for you, show your taste etc. To each his own. If you get too much advice, there goes your shot at individuality.

Thanks. Was trying for elegant.. I've added a few chrome bits, but i'm almost done.. gotta take some new pix though..

It's an '05 silver. I taped it to mark the lines, tore it down and took the parts to the shop, then re-assembled it. (with only about a dozen extra fasteners.. )

This is definitely not a dig at Joe or his bike, but has anybody realized that the paint job he did is very "Harleyesque'? Personally, I think that the classic look and paint of the two-tone Harley is it's best attribute, and I think Joe has done a great job bringing that to the Wing. And Mike is right on, "elegant" is the word!

Joe, try those "Horn" upside down. They really look good that way. We see them like that around here all the time.

I've always liked that classic two-tone bike style.. I decided to go with it even though folks have forgotten it wasn't just Harley's done that way...

    Default Paint Job

I like what you have done & gives me incentive to pursue something similar. My original 1500 was a 1990 Wineberry & I bought an Escapade trailer with matched paint. The combination was great!
When I traded up to an '03 Metallic Silver (or whatever the color was called in that year):
    1. The mismatch was glaring!
    2. Every time I hooked the trailer up, the bike "lost it's luster".

I considered repainting the trailer to match the bike, but that did not seem to get what I wanted. Now, I'm considering painting the lower part of the bike in Wineberry and the upper part of the trailer in "Metallic Silver".
One has to have something to dream about on snowy winter days.

    Joe,
What did you use to fill the holes where the original GoldWing emblems were on the side covers?

That silver and wineberry could be pretty... You might try photoshopping it if you get a chance..

I filled the holes (covered them actually) with those T-bird logos I bought on eBAY..

Joe, that looks great. I love the paint scheme. I hope the Honda Motorsports Corporation reads the forum. They need to spruce things up a bit as far as their paint choices go.
